  • WPJA Results Are In!

This past week has been a busy one. We launched our first ever Boudoir Party at the super sheik Jet Hotel. There are going to be some very happy husbands and fiances this Christmas! We also have been working hard on some really big surprises that I can't wait to announce this week.

We have been patiently waiting for the wedding photojournalist association quarter 3 contest results to come in. They were finally announced last week and we were very pleased to see another one of our images recognized. One of our favorite couples from this year were Jennifer and Tally. You will remember them from this post. Their super fabulous reception at the Hotel Boulderado provided us with by far one of the coolest shots from this year.

This placed #20 under Cake Cutting.

There were so many amazing photos this quarter for WPJA and it was equally exciting to see so many of our fellow Colorado colleagues recognized. Adam and I would like to congratulate Alison Rose Photography, Kent Meireis, John Hudetz, and Adam Welch and all of the others who placed.  These are only a few of the Coloradoan's that placed you can view the full results here.

So, now we are paitently waiting for the artistic guild of the wedding photojournalist association to come out. We have our fingers crossed it will be very soon.

  • You asked...why are you different?

I woke up this morning pondering what I was going to blog about. As Adam headed to the office, I stayed home with Zoe, she was so excited to see how much it snowed last night and uber excited to see it was still snowing. So then I thought, well I'll blog about the snow or Zoe. Halfway through Adam's drive to the office he called me to let me know he was still in traffic and it was moving really slow. As we started talking, the topic of conversation turned to prospective client meetings.

With wedding planning in full swing and meetings with brides, grooms, and mother's of the brides we photographers get excited. Time and time again we get asked the question, "why are you different?" Yes there are a million different photographers out there, but in the end there's only one that's good enough for your wedding day.

You want to make sure that you find a photographer or photographers that fit your personality, style and vision for your wedding day. Most of the time Adam will say some funny joke to answer the question so everyone will laugh. Then he tells them how our passion for our craft is expressed through our work. We've been doing this a long time and we are always working on improving our craft. We give each other support on a bad day and always give each other suggestions on how to get better. Through communication with each other we've found our strengths and weaknesses and how to improve on those weaknesses. We always want our work to reflect our passion and the style of our client. We love taking a "raw" photo and making it into a work of art (as our good friend Otto would say).

Here is a photo right out of the camera:

Now when someone asks us why we're different we can say, "our passion for your day will show in the final product."
